MOVEMENT for the brain
Below are a couple of resources for “brain breaks” and readying for desk work time.
DANCE & YOGA: Below is a collection of 20-30 minute YouTube videos from an amazing Fitness instructor Nonie Rand for when you need to get your body moving. Each clip has a pre-dance activity. Movement is affective for grounding the body when it feels funky, slumpy, cranked-up or just needs a good stretch. Super to do these pre-class or homework! (parent supervision please)
MUSIC CARE is a way to bring music into my early elementary school students’ day. Music can life stress right out of the body. Use these links to help you student relax before or after home practice. Emily Conkey is a music care professional who will tell stories with music. Chose from one of the four (4) songs below. Enjoy! (parent supervision please).
